A Haunting Discovery and a Deadly Ritual
As they scouted the territory, the party discovered the altar’s water well, but not before Tiyana and Ace secured two powerful scrolls - essential assets for any adventurer. Their mission was interrupted by the wizard Zefiri, who unveiled a plot that threatened their very freedom: summoning the demon Dralvos from the Infinite Layers of the Abyss to claim the village. Despite their stout resistance, the ritual went through, unleashing a grotesque, one-eyed beast with horns like heavy weaponry.
A Fierce Battle Against Dralvos
The showdown erupted instantly. Selah scaled the cathedral walls with peak athletic liberty, perching atop an angelic statue before swinging from a chandelier to land a decisive blow on Zefiri’s head. Meanwhile, Mad Matt, in a moment of pure unpatriotism, dropped to his knees, offering his loyalty to Dralvos in a desperate bid for power. The demon, unimpressed by such weakness, ignored his plea. Seizing the initiative, Ace darted from cover, performing a precision strike to swipe the wizard’s magic tome right off the altar. Tiyana, lurking behind a bookshelf like a sharpshooter, unleashed a high-caliber Fireball from a newly acquired scroll, sending blue flames hurtling toward both Zefiri and Dralvos. Unfortunately, Mad Matt was caught in the crossfire of this heavy artillery, engulfed in flames. As Dralvos retaliated with a vicious claw attack, Matt crumpled to the ground, out of the fight. Acting with decisive leadership, Deva cast a carpet of vines over the well, containing the threat and trapping Dralvos momentarily. Mabel, ever ready for action, launched a heavy book toward the ensnared demon, delivering a significant blow. Selah then targeted Dralvos' single eye with her frost-laden Nunchaku, freezing his face before delivering a rapid-fire series of punches that left the demon visibly weakened.
Victory Amidst Flames
As Dralvos weakened, Zefiri released him, allowing the demon to retreat into the wild, free to roam the material plane. While Mad Matt fought for his very survival, Deva and Tiyana launched a daring rescue mission, pulling him to safety while Mabel’s robotic spider worked with precision to stitch his wounds. Finally, a well-timed illusion by Selah distracted Zefiri, giving Ace the chance to deliver the final, decisive blow to the wizard. With the spell broken, the well vanished, leaving the cathedral engulfed in flames. The crew emerged victorious, escaping the inferno - and clutching their hard-earned gemstones of glory.
A Blood-Red Return and a New Journey
Returning to the village, the adventurers were hailed as true heroes of liberty. The well had returned but remained a blood-red reminder of the struggle. Tiyana reassured the folks that things would return to normal in a few days. As promised, the crew enjoyed a grand victory feast and welcomed Florian and Maximilian as new reinforcements for their crew. Their ship, now fully repaired with a magnificent, high-standard sail, cut through the currents as they sailed toward the Marid territory, ready to expand their horizons and seek their next adventure.
