Amidst the clinking of teacups and polite chatter, a vial of a mysterious substance known as flux changed hands with the bartender, only to be bought back at a rather cheeky markup - a mere prelude to the bizarre events to come.

A human patron named Marcus grew visibly anxious upon seeing the flux, which was all a bit much for a Tuesday afternoon, leading to the revelation of the University Triangular Communication System. Using it, Marcus can send up to 100 pages every Saturday - quite a lot of paperwork, really - a seemingly mundane detail that soon became pivotal: One gold piece later, Marcus agreed to message his professor, the esteemed Lady Levine, seeking answers about the rather enigmatic flux.

Secrets and Suspense at the Moon Temple
Next, our heroes found themselves at the Moon Temple, arriving just in time to overhear a rather spirited - and frankly, quite loud - dispute between a black-clad young lady named Rachel and Father George. The confrontation concluded with Father George excusing Rachel and her companions from the Full Moon service, which was quite unseemly. Despite this, the party agreed to participate in the evening ritual, being advised to explore the town until nightfall, provided the weather didn't turn too dreadful.

Sinister Plots Unfold at the Port
Down at the port, tensions simmered as a ship from Allison & Sons' Trading Co. lay docked, with the enigmatic Miss Fawkes serving as envoy. Cecilie's keen ears caught Rachel conversing with a blind girl, setting the stage for a clandestine agreement when our heroes confronted the girl: she would "take care of the people" while our heroes focused on the ship. In a charming side note, Wilma enjoyed a delightful bit of small talk with halfling soap vendors Clarence and Caspar Clover regarding their latest wares.

But not all was as polite as it seemed. Miss Fawkes' secret negotiations with port authority Augustus to establish a trading outpost for Allison & Sons' in Port Elgin took a dark turn as Cecilie eavesdropped. The foreboding air thickened, much like the damp mist rolling in from the sea, hinting at impending disaster.

Explosions Shatter the Peace
Suddenly, the port was rocked by a massive explosion, which was an utterly dreadful bother. A shady figure detonated an explosive barrel near Augustus' office, resulting in a blinding pinkish-blue flash and an acidic stench that was quite frankly offensive to the senses. Augustus was killed instantly, while Lady Fawkes was hurled across the street. The chaos deepened as the blind girl ignited another explosive barrel, killing Clarence and quite messily wounding Lady Fawkes, tearing off her right arm. Amidst the pandemonium, our heroes faced a rather difficult dilemma: race to the ship, seek vengeance for Clarence, or loot the fallen Augustus and Lady Fawkes. With the town guards focusing their efforts on defending Lady Fawkes and confronting the blind attacker, our heroes navigated the turmoil with split priorities.

A Town in Turmoil
As the dust settled (and one hoped for a bit of rain to wash away the grime), and Captain Mad Matt darted through the explosion clouds, the fate of Port Elgin remained uncertain. Will our heroes seize the ship amidst the chaos, or will they fall victim to the swirling vortex of betrayal and destruction?
