Between The Great Ridge and Port Elgin - I’m terribly sorry to intrude, but what began as a simple little search for treasure on a chilly beach has turned into a bit of a scary situation with ghosts and secret plans, eh? Four adventurers met up at a shipwreck washed ashore, setting off a series of events that might just change the fate of Kenver and the surrounding frosty woods, if you don't mind me saying.

Wreckage Wonders: Spooky Captains and That Strange Cargo, Eh?
May 28, 2024

The Gathering at the Wreckage
Drawn by the promise of some riches, four adventurers met amidst the debris of a decimated ship - sorry about the mess, eh? Among them, Captain Mad Matt revealed his identity and his quest for a new vessel and crew. His previous crew's fate remains a bit of a mystery, which is quite unsettling, I’m so sorry to say. He quickly recruited the others, appointing the polite monk Selah as First Fighter, the formidable fighter Sonia as Second Fighter, and our resourceful halfling druid Wilma Waterfoot as an all-purpose member, eh.
It was such a shame about the irreparable state of the ship, really. They salvaged what remained of its cargo: four barrels. Three contained mackerel and gunpowder, but the fourth held a strange, thick pinkish-blue liquid that smelled quite acidic and faintly fruity, eh. Captain Mad Matt took a little taste test - sorry to him! - and found it was pineapple-flavored but far too acidic for a nice drink. Since it vanished immediately when it touched the water, the crew ended up calling it "the enemy of the sea," eh.
A Bit of a Scary Time Inside the Wreck
Venturing inside the wreck, oh dear, Wilma was swiftly knocked back outside by a flying fishbowl, which released an angry Piranhax into the ocean. The party managed to subdue the aquatic menace before discovering that the ship's hold had space for 120 barrels, eh.
In the captain's quarters, they encountered the ship's grizzled, blue-skinned captain, Liasu, who was quite upset and vowed to defend his ship from the intruders - my apologies to him, truly!
A Rather Unfortunate Skirmish
Captain Liasu called upon two similarly blue sailors for aid, which led to a bit of a fierce battle, eh. While Mad Matt and Sonia cornered Liasu, Selah found herself rather outnumbered, fighting off both sailors all by her lonesome - so sorry for her! Meanwhile, outside, Wilma was busy cooking the recently subdued Piranhax (hopefully with a little maple syrup, eh?). Upon hearing the battle, she cleverly coated a Piranhax tooth in that mysterious liquid and hurled it into the ship, hoping to help her friends. Though the tooth missed its mark, Selah used it as a second weapon anyway, bless her heart.
Mad Matt attempted to have a polite chat with Liasu but discovered the captain was beyond reasoning, appearing quite zombified, eh. In a rather climactic clash, Sonia's greatsword pierced Liasu's side, and Mad Matt's trusty gun delivered the final blow, ending the eerie captain's undead existence - such a shame, eh.
Some Finds and a Few Hints, If You Please
The heroes' search of the captain's cabin yielded some intriguing finds, if it's not too much trouble to mention:
- Mad Matt discovered two books: a cookbook, which was very kindly given to Wilma, and a mysterious deep blue tome written in a language no one can quite read, sorry about that.
- Sonia found a peculiar little contraption made of glass, rubber, and pipe - rather like a snorkeling kit, eh - allowing one to breathe near the water's surface.
- Selah uncovered two pieces of paper: one instructed Liasu to "deliver the cargo to Manamea without fail," and another, handwritten by Liasu, hinted at a different plan: "Port Elgin, The Day of the Full Moon," eh.
With these revelations, the party set their sights on the bustling hub of Port Elgin, determined to uncover more about that cryptic cargo and Liasu's ominous plans, if you don't mind us getting involved, eh.
